Lawmakers in Florida still can’t agree on a bill to prohibit texting while driving. It didn’t stop the Lee County School District to make a move, though.
Last March, the district put a policy in place that banned all school employees from texting while driving a school district vehicle or a personal vehicle while on district business.It is believed that the school district is one of the first government agencies in the state to make texting while driving illegal. Even before the policy was adopted, the district was still convinced of the dangers of distracted driving.
